Allie's Ballet

Allie had her ballet performance today, I'm not sure why she had to do 60 hours of ballet this month to figure out a 2 minute performance, but she did it, she smiled, she didn't forget the routine and she had a blast. This is her with her class and her two teachers, Miss Ashley the blonde and Miss Elise the brunette, they are really sweet, but tend to take themselves a little more serious than they should. Hanging on Allie is her new 'best friend' Anna they made fast friends and have been inseperable all month long. Unfortunately, no cameras were allowed in the performance, we have to wait and buy a 40 dollar dvd to be able to show everyone. I'll have more pictures in the next few days, finally things are winding down and we have more time in the coming weeks to take pictures.

Here are some updates and a few more pictures. It is really easy to get these four to pose for a picture, unfortunatly monkey doesn't feel that she needs to sit still for them, I guess she will be upset when she is older and we don't have any pictures of her to show.

Monkey

Monkey, loves her new day care, and she is starting to finally say a few words, we are still working on signing with her as she seems to understand that better than verbal communication still. She is so funny though when she gets home from day care she is so tired, she was wide awake last night and I went into the kitchen to get her dinner but before I could get back to her with it, she had fallen asleep sitting in her highchair. She is so sweet and peaceful when she sleeps so she had a bottle and went to bed instead of having dinner. Today though I made Mom's bean burritos' and she loves them, she ate a whole burrito by herself and made her yummy noises all the way through.

June 1st was HOT!!!!!!!

Wow it was really hot today so everyone got in the pool and played, Allie of course had to try "head in the water" gymnastics, after the handstand she did a back hand spring but of course I can't get that on camera. Riley had fun and is even starting to feel a little more comfortable in the water, he puts his face in now and can even float on his back if someone helps him get boyant, (oddly enough he lets Al help him with this). Monkey even got in on the action even though she fussed most of the time, she played a little, but she sure did get some tan lines even from just being in the sun for 15 minutes!!!! I guess she is going to end up being a quick tan just like her older sister, it won't be long before they are all the color of hot chocolate! Lucky them, I don't tan that well anymore, it could be that I'm actually using sunscreen now that I'm almost 30 instead of tanning oils like I did when I lifeguarded.....yes mom I used tanners not sun block, I know that makes you cringe, but I was a little headstrong as a teenager. At the end Riley wanted to have his picture taken but fell asleep on the lounger while I was getting the camera, that kid can sleep anywhere if he is tired enough!

Allie and 'monkey' ready to swim

Here is Allie and 'monkey' getting ready to go swimming today, monkey finally fits into allie's first swimsuit, and it is really cute on her. Allie had her hair braided a couple of weeks ago and wanted to be blonde this summer so as you can see she had blonde highlights braided in......(what a princess) oh well!!!!

The humming birds

we have a humming bird nest on top of our wind chimes, and the babies have finall hatched, here a picture of one of them, the nest is only about the size of a chicken egg, and the eggs were the size of jellybeans, the baby has grown very quickly and will probably be leaving the nest very soon, we will see.

the baby's big visit

Yesterday we had the baby's grandmother and sister over to the house for a visit. They wanted to see her and meet the rest of the family. The baby's big sister is Hailley she is 8 years old, she misses her little sister very much and doesn't understand the situation very well. Her and Allie got along very well, we had a barbeque and the kids swam in the pool, they had a lot of fun and played for hours. Cindy the grandmother is very appreciative and happy that the baby is well cared for and loved, we don't know yet what her plans are for the baby, but we do hope that she is allowed to stay a part of our family for ever. Time will tell on that one. As an update.....'piglet' is now army crawling everywhere, and I suspect is won't be long before she is up on her hands and knees going mach 10 all over the house. She is still just as happy, and content as she always was and is starting to wave hi and bye to people. She is also babbling a lot. "monkey" is doing so well she now has several words, her funniest one is 'stop it!' she yells it at the top of her lungs at the older two, she loves to be the boss and will take nothing less. Daycare has really helped her with her patience and verbal skills, we should have done it a long time ago. She seems to be a much happier and less irratible toddler. Also with the recommendation of Aunt Debbie we are using the baby signing times DVD's and they are helping tremendously, I think now that the kids and us are signing to her regularly she will start doing it more and more and be able to tell us what she needs, that will help her to be less impatient. Allie and Riley are of course doing well, we are getting ready for Allie to start her big ballet camp on monday, we hope she likes it. Riley has been a good little boy this week and we think we are turning a corner with him.
